Figure One - Me at the desk

In September 2021, I started making music under the name 'Blu Ivory' a name I got from a Wikipedia page about a song I was talking about on my old podcast 'Mad4Music'. My intention is to become a music producer. Some of my inspirations for me becoming a producer include Quincy Jones and That podcast was a sign telling me Blu Ivory was meant to be my name. Blu is my favourite colour and Ivory was from a random Wikipedia page about a song I was talking about on my old podcast. I dropped the E of Blu to make it look cool.  My inspirations for music include artists such as Bruno Mars and Michael Jackson who are my two favourite artists of all time. I also enjoy the music of The Weeknd and rock group Royal Blood. My favourite type of music is 80’s music and some songs in this genre of music include Heartbreak Hotel by The Jacksons and Radio Gaga by Queen. My strengths are that I have good knowledge of music and have been listening to music since I was 4 years old. Another strength that I have as an artist is that I can make original compositions that are at least 2 minutes in length. The first song I made was not in Cubase 10 but in fact in Music Maker Jam. It is currently my ringtone for nostalgic purposes. I made that song when I was only 12 years old.

My First Proper Engineering Session In The College Studios.

In my first year at college, I had to record a group performance. My role in the recording session was that I flew the desk for the group recording. In my opinion I think the recording session went well but there was room for improvement. Such things I could improve include my concentration levels. This means that I don't get distracted and miss the signal to start/finish recording.

Target Audience

My target audience is teenagers between 16 and 19 years old. I gained this information from
primary research. The reason for this is because I know what music teenagers like because
I am one. The music that teenagers listen to in recent years include rap music and RnB. Some
of the big artists of recent years includes artists such as Drake and Kanye West who are both
successful artists in their field.

Networking Strategies

To expand my list of people I have worked with, so my career is more recognisable. For example, if I was to collaborate with someone such as Bruno Mars the people who work with Bruno whether in past or future would know about me and may want to work with me in the future.

There are different settings for networking for collaborations.

Some examples include Discord for music producers and artists. There are many Discord servers where artists can share their music with each other. Another one could be Twitter Communities. These are a type of server on Twitter where creators can gather feedback and ideas from their respective fan base and also artists/creators that are also in the community. The most useful means of networking is Meet and Greets as it is face-to-face and not online. This is good so that artists can talk to each other in person and express their feelings about each others work not primarily through words but also body language too.

  3. detailed epk, youve added a logo as well. great description on how your passion for music stemmed from and about your favourite artist, michael jackson (a more detailed case study can be found elsewhere in the blog). one thing to improve about this blog would be the text o your client list not including so many ... and disappearance of text.
